Card

Tonight, instead of a layout, I created this card. I am not a card person and it took me a while to finish it. Choosing papers took me the most. I made this card using Card Positioning Systems sketch 121 for Adrienne's My Sentiments Exactly.

Tammy's Blog Candy

Tammy is celebrating her 1 year blog-anniversary by giving away a blog candy! You can see the pic and details on her blog :)

Fun Day

I discovered a new scrapping blog called Candy Shoppe Designs over the weekend. I thought it was such a cute name and looked into it. Although their launch will be about 2 months away on 9/1/09, they are having a pre-challenge that is due tomorrow. I picked out these photos last night and scrapped this page tonight. This challenge is to use the sketch provided by Jennifer (something borrowed) as well as to use something new, something old, and something blue. I used Prima flowers for new thing, California patterned paper for old thing, and pearls, Mickey button, ribbon for blue things.

Ingredients: Patterned papers: MME, Basic Grey, Flowers: Prima, Chipboard letters: Doodlebug, Ribbon: American Craft, Journalling spot: K & Co., Pearls: Queen & Co., Buttons: EK Success, and others. About this page: Our dd had her birthday earlier in the month and instead of having a party, we decided to go to Disneyland. They were having 2 for 1 specials for Southern California residents at that time. We went to Disneyland first (st regular admission price) and got free tickets to California Adventures. 2 weeks after we went to Disneyland, we went to California Advantures. These photos were taken at the entrance. That was our first time going to the park and we had such a fun day. Since I am creating multiple pages for this day, I didn't add journaling on this page.

Candy Shoppe Designs

Candy Shoppe Designs is a brand new scrappin blog that will debut on 9/1/09. It says they there will be bi-weekly challenges and sounds like there will be lots of fun to look forward to. They are in search of design team members right now but they are already offering the readers some fun. They are having a pre-challenge till tomorrow. You can leave comments for a chance to win blog candy, too :)

Full House & Play Time

I finished 2 today. The first one was done for Cafe Mojo's tearing challenge. These photos were taken a little over a month after we moved in. We don't live there anymore and I miss it so much. On the second page, I used up some left overs from the pages I created last week or so.

Let's Capture Our Memories

There is a brand new sketch blog. Capture Our Memories just launched a new sketch blog, Capture These Sketches. I love working with sketches. They eliminate a great deal of my frustrations :) They have selected a design team and I can't wait for the first sketch!!

4 Layouts

Here are some pages I created this week. The first one was done based on a sketch from Page Maps. The 2nd one was done last night. This was made inspired by Scrapping the Music's song of the week, "because of you" by Kelly Clarkson. Isn't there another "because of you" ?? Anyway this phrase on my page is what came up to me... a little different from Kelly's song. The last one "grin" was scrapped using a sketch from DUS.

I Really Love You & #1 Dad

I scrapped 2 pages tonight. Pretty good for weekday night. The first one was done for KiddieLit's The Velveteen Rabbit soft texture challenge. I happened to have just gotten some velvet flowers. This book reminds me of Peter Rabbit book that my dd had. It actually had soft textures on it like rabbit fur. Reading was our bed time ritual. I had my dd write journaling on this one. Also I used a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. The second page was done for Real Life Scraps' Boy challenge. I used Tara's sketch on this one. These photos are both from California Adventures.

Our New Home

Sometimes I can't keep up with what's posted and what's not. Here is a layout I created for Your Scrapbook Stash. They are sponsoring Use Your Stash this month and are hosting a challenge to use older stash. Everything used on this page, I already had when we moved into this house 4 years ago. I thought I would never use these letter stickers any more.... There are no flowers nor chipboards because I don't have any old flowers nor chipboards. I don't even think I used them when I first started scrapbooking. It was kind of hard to match this photo with old stash but it made me feel good to use up some old stuff anyway :)

Color My World

What's easier than to use flowers? The current challenge on Cafe Mojo is to use flowers. I didn't have any problem with this one :) This photo was taken at Disneyland. We were in line for Pirates of Caribbean rides.

Unforgettable

I scrapped a couple of Disneyland photos for this week's Use Your Stash challenge. It is to use 3 different pattern papers from 3 different manufacturers. I used Basic Grey, Making Memories, and Kaisercraft. These are all from my scrap stash. So I am very pleased about that.

Princess

Father's day sunday is almost over. Hope all the fathers out there had a good day. We did the same thing we did for Mother's day today. Had family gathering with a delicious dinner.
I didn't do much scrapping this weekend though. I put this page together tonight. It came pretty quickly. I made it for the current BASB challenge. It is a monochromatic challenge and I chose pink. This photo was my dd's very first school picture. She had just started pre-school. I wasn't surprised when these photos came back. She just wouldn't smile for the photographers back then. As a matter of fact, her 2nd school picture a year later was a same way.... serious look, no smile.

In Love with This Girl

I used Stickles for the first time. I bought a 3-bottle-pack last week. I painted a rainbow with 4 different colors then rubbed some Stickles over. This page was made inspired by the song of the week at Scrapping the Music and done based on Pink Sketch #36.

Sweetheart

Happy hump day! I just finished this page using paint. It is this week's challenge over at Use Your Stash. I wish I could come up with some clever idea with it but after staring at the papers for a while, this is all I could think of. Kinda boring. But I like to keep it simple. I used the crimper for the first time in a looooong time!

Indiana Jones

When we went to Disneyland, we started from Adventure Land. Indiana Jones ride was such a fun! I did this page for the color challenge over at Scrapping out Loud. I also used a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks.

Jasmine & Aladdin

An edge distressor is my favorite tool to use. I use it very often. So the current challenge at Cafe Mojo was an easy one for me to participate. I had fun distressing :) This photo was from 2005 when we went to Disneyland for my dd's 11th birthday. We used to live very close to it... I scraplifted a page from Tara's blog.

Mickey & others

2 of these were made last Friday. I didn't do much over the weekend except starting this Mickey page.

Precious

Happy Friday Eve!! I can't wait for tomorrow evening. I like the fact that I don't have to worry too much about time Friday nights. Anyway here is what I just finished. I did this for Scrapping out Loud. The prompt for the current challenge is "fire". What is the one thing you would save when your house is on fire after your family have safely escaped and your scrapbooking everything has been saved ? Mine would be the cards and gifts my dd made for me especially the ones she made for Mother's Day. They are my treasures! I also used their sketch of the week. I love this sketch!!

Spin

I made a page using a piece of fabric last week. So this is the second one this month. To tell the truth, I am not comfortable doing it yet. I have used fabric on a few layouts before but I just don't have any creative ideas other than to use like a piece of patterned paper. Anyway there is a challenge going on at Use Your Stash this week and I decided to give it a try. I picked the green fabric and made this page colorful.

Camp Snoopy

I joined a chat this evening for an hour. It was my very first chat experience! Everyone was typing soooo fast and just keeping up with the conversation was tough. It was with Laura Childs on We Scrap. It was fun. We learned about her a lot, too :) They had a contest for this event and I had entered 2 layouts for it. And I won a gift certificate to We Scrap! Even after that, I managed to scrap this page. It was created based on this week's sketch on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I love how this turned out and it didn't take me no time at all to scrap :)

Sun-Kissed

It's Summer!! This page was done for Scrapping Out Loud. Their current challenge is to use rub-ons on the photo.

Summer Fun

Here is my page using MME papers I bought this weekend. This was done for Cafe Mojo. This will also be submitted to The Story Matters and {Create}. They all have summer theme. I included the cluster of flowers for Tara's challenge :) And there is a new challenge for the girls like me called Pile It On. Although there are some challenge blogs that don't want you to combine any challenges, this one wants you to!! Now as much as I try to create a separate page for different challanges, I DO love to combine. There are so much to do and so little time!!

Perfectly Imperfect and It won't be long

I don't know why. I am soooo tired. So my posts are very short (not that I ever write a lot .... lol...) Anyway, the page titled "Perfectly Imperfect" was done for ALBTM's challenge to use plastics and the second one titled "It won't be long" was done for SATU.

6th Grade & Home Sweet Home

These are the pages I made last night and tonight. First one is done based on the latest sketch on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. The second one was done for the challenge at Scrappy Times. The inspiration comes from Suzi Blu and her video. I didn't know anything about her but I found this video very inspiring.

Heaven's Gift

There are some "firsts" on this page. I tried masking with Maya mist. I sprayed Maya mist on circles cut out of coffee filter to make a flower. I used a paper clip. I had never done those things before. I did this page based on a sketch from Scrappy Times, inspired by the song of the week (You are so beautiful) from Scrapping the Music. I also made this one for Murder Mystery Mansion challenge (use of color, item, technique) on We Scrap. They just went together.

Wild Pooh on the Run

I made this page inspired by the book, Wild Things; the current challenge on Kiddie Lit. It brings memories of when my dd was a little girl that we enjoyed those books. The story starts with Max playing in a wolf costume. I immediately thought of this photo of my dd. This Pooh towel kinda looks like a costume. Although the colors of this page are so much different from the colors in the book, I made them as wild as I know how.
