Queen of the crap and miss M

Why is is it that weekends always go so fast? It's not that I don't want to go to work, but I wish I had more time scrapping.

The next 2 weeks I have the honor to be Queen of the crap over on SYC. Most of people that saw me there probably have never heard of me. Well, I am just an ordinary person who loves to scrap. I discovered scrapbooking in summer of 2004 when a friend of mine showed me her trip album. When I saw all those beautiful pages, I didn't hesitate at all to start creating my own album. She was so sweet that she gave me some papers and eyelets to start. I scrapped my daughter's photos for about a year, then we moved to where we live now. After about a month we moved I just quit completely and left my scrapbooking stuff alone for 2 years. When I picked it up again around the end of 2007, that was the beginning of my obsession. Obsession may be a little too strong word, but I am hooked for sure. I discovered sketches and challenges. I started this blog and started participating challenges. I love challenges. They make my pages versatile. I get inspired everyday. There are plenty of fantastic scrappers out there who share their creations on various blogs and galleries. I am working on my daughter's album now. I started with her ultra sound photos and now she is 18 months old in my scrapbooking world. In reality, she is 14. As I continue working on this project, there are some rules--these rules are not something I have to follow. It's just my personality.

They are:

1. I have to have photos in order. Even among the photos taken at the same event, I want them in order of photos taken. And I have to know the dates. Today's photos never should be before yesterday's.

2. I have to keep everything. Even the photos turned out blur. I simply can not pick and choose to make my pages look nicer.

3. It is very hard to crop the photos. From a clutter on the corner of a photo to the lace of the edge of a blanket to a cheap figurine on the side table, I want to remember everything. So, it is hard to cut a picture smaller or to cover with stickers, etc.

I am putting these things before artistic side of scrapbooking. What I mean is when it may look better arranging pictures in a different order or cutting them smaller, or putting an embellishment on a photo (especially on a person) , I rather have my layouts look unbalanced.

Hey, it is just a hobby after all. As long as I am happy with my pages, that's all it counts, right?

When I get to the digital photos I have yet to develop, I may do differently, but until then I think I will continue what I have been doing unless I get too bored doing.

Anyway enough said about myself. Here is the layout I made today.
