3/21/10

Another weekend went by quickly. It was very nice and warm Friday and yesterday I saw some people in t-shirts. Today, it's very cold and snowed some. It's just crazy!! I am so tired of being cold.... I kinda dread to go to work tomorrow. I've got the feeling it will be busy for the rest of the month. Have a nice week!!

Snow Fun

This is my entry to Workout #16 at ScrapFit. This challenge is to use 4 circles, 2 photos, multiple fonts, and distressing. It let me try using up some alphas and it also added some colors :) They are having a blog hop this weekend. I don't think I have time to participate this time. But if you are interested in, check it out. There is a great prize for a winner !!

Enjoy

I hope I am interpreting the challenge right. The current challenge at BASB is to repeat an element you like several times on a layout. I chose "polka dots". I used polka dots in different items; papers, ribbons, brads, Thickers, and a flower. I didn't realize I had this much polka dots!

3/14/10

It's already Sunday afternoon and it's time to post some layouts I created this week. I've been scrapping new photos. Since I am doing Project 12 this year, I decided to get all of my photos developed monthly. I still have lots of snow photos to scrap.

Project 12: February

Woo hoo! I made the 2nd 2 pager for the year!! This is the digest for the month of February for Project 12 hosted by Scrapbook & Cards Today and Davinie. 2 page layouts always intimidated me and I rarely try. But working with Becky Fleck's sketch so far has been fun and easier. It took me a while to choose the background cardstock and the papers. I used Almond color cardstock as background for January one and thought it would be nice to keep it the same for the entire year. I also had to decide whether to use the color pink and the hearts. Valentine's day is not really a big event for us any more and they might not go with the snow photos I wanted to include. Anyway, I ended up with using the color pink and the hearts. They represent February after all. Since I don't have a circle cutter, I omitted the circle frames on the sketch. I used the Maya Road's sheer calender again. It looks simple without lots of embellies and dimension but I'm happy with this :)

beauty

I really enjoy visiting American Crafts blog. They have weekly themes and share so much great projects with the readers and I get inspired a lot. They also have weekly challenges. I don't get to participate every week but try to do as much as I can. Here is my entry this week. The challenge is to use two or more Botanique products. I have some different embellies by American Crafts but when it comes to papers I only have a la Carte pack and I have used them on every entry for their challenges. I lucked out this week because the prize package I received from BASB included some Botanique papers and the stickers :):):) I was a little stingy using them on this page though. They are so pretty I have to make them last longer!

Supplies: papers: American Crafts, sticker: American Crafts, felt flowers: American Crafts, ribbons: American Crafts, Thickers: American Crafts, buttons: Autumn Leaves, tag: unknown

Lucky

Sassy Lil' Sketches is hosting a blog hop this weekend and I wouldn't miss out the fun. The theme is "Going Green". They came up with the fab sketch to work with and the prompts. Their 20 DT memebers each created the fantastic layouts and cards to inspire all of us. I had a great time visiting their blogs :) Although you need to pick just one criteria, I ended up covering more. I first chose to make the page with the color green as the main color. I also used the supplies more than a year old. And the smaller pieces of papers on this page are all left overs from the pages I made before. I am so proud of the big flower ring I cut out from a cardstock. Since this is a green page, it was natural to pick the word "Lucky" as my title for this page.

So Sweet

I don't think I have created any other pages like this one here before. The current challenge at BASB is to scrap a page using rub-ons, stamps, and border punches. What a combination huh? Stamping is already a difficult challenge for me. I hadn't used this border punch that much since I bought it in December. Rub-ons are something I don't quite know how to use. So it was a good exercise for me to do this page :) I stamped directly onto the cardstock and you can tell I need more practice. I got to do the layering thing with the border strips which I had been wanting to try. Anyway, I can say I'm glad I did this challenge and I'm pretty happy with this layout :)

Broccoli Tortilla

My dd wanted to make something healthy to eat and she wanted to eat broccoli. And this is what she came up with. She gave me a slice and it was yummy! Her (and probably my) kind of cooking... easy and delicious! I created this page for March challenge at Scrap A Little. It is to scrap a layout using a fabulous Helen's sketch.

Sunday Post

It's gotten a little warmer this week and that's a good thing. I am ready for the sunshine. I have slowed down this week as far as my scrapping goes. I kept going way too much last month and it doesn't last as long as I want it to...... hey I'm old...LOL I still have a few more on my list but I just don't feel like working on them. I picked up my February photos this afternoon though. I know I want to do a 2 pager for my Project 12 next weekend.

Time to Relax

This is a page I created using the current sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. The background cardstock is actually white. I glimmermisted in pink, blue, and yellow just a little bit. This photo was taken in 2005 and she will be 16 in a couple of weeks. She's grown up so much!!
