Post Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving came and went. Hope everybody had a wonderful thanksgiving. I did.
I had to work on Friday but was able to take advantage of Black Friday sales on on-line shopping. And I got some shopping done yesterday. So today I got back to scrapbooking and created 3 pages. 2nd LO was done based on Page Plans #33 and the last one was done based on Rough Draft #8. Speaking of Rough Draft, I was chosen as a grand prize winner for November. Yay!! I just love working with sketches.

Long Day?

Happy Tuesday! One more day and we have Thanksgiving. I will have to work Friday though... Here is the page I made tonight. I used 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #47 to create this one. I had to add extra mat because the photo is small.

2 layouts

I took another day off this month. It will be a short week this week and I am glad about that. I will be taking 3 more vacation days early part of December. This should give me extra time to scrap but not as much as I would like to. I know I will have other things to take care of. Anyway I completed 2 pages today. The first one was inspired by '5 O'clock World", the song of the week at Scrapping the Music. That's the theme song for Drew Carey show. I had totally forgotten about that show. I bought a pack of black magic cardstocks. They are black on front and different colors on back. I sanded this one to reveal some blue color. As I was sanding, my hands got sooo black and I had to go wash them. I want to try tearing next time. The second one was done based on Page Maps sketch. This was another 'thankful' challenge. I guess it's that time of the year but I feel I made too many 'thankful' pages this month. I used velvet flock on this one. It was included in the prize I received last month from IMM-Scrap Muse. Pretty neat!!

2 layouts done with the snow photos. The first one was done based on Page Plans #32 and the second one was done based on Pink Sketch #15.

Happy

This layout was done based on Rough Draft #7. I just wanted to use up those 2 pieces of papers under the photo. But I couldn't find a background paper that would go with them... Anyway this is the end result.

Stirfry

This is my first entry to ScrapStars. The current challenge is to create a page about nicknames. I started this page a lot differently. But this is what I ended up with. I used all scraps to decorate as usual.

Just A Girl

I like how the coloring turned out on this one. I used lots of post-it notes to mask the little squares as I colored with ink pads. Scrapping the Music's song of the week is 'Just A Girl'. I created this page inspired by the ad #3 on Ad This. The photo frame is from Clip Art.

You, Daisy

I had gone to bed about an hour and half ago but couldn't sleep. So I got out of bed and remembered I hadn't posted what I finished tonight (or it's already yesterday). The first one is Melissa's lift on UnPubbed. The photo sizes were just perfect to scraplift her pretty LO. There she was, not cooperating for me to take good photos... The second LO was for Method Playground. The new challenge is paper poking. I normally poke holes when I stitch..both real and fake... This time I poked the background design on the cardstock. I poked then decided to use the reverse side of the cardstock as front side. I did the horrible paint job though.... I got lazy and didn't use a brush. I just didn't want to get up and go wash the brush afterwards. Anyway, I like this poked design. I may use it to stitch next time.

Serious Scrapping

I took a day off today. I have a few vacation days left to take before the year-end and since I wouldn't be able to take holiday weeks, I decided to take today off. I don't know if you would call this mojo, but I was rolling today. Finished 5 layouts!!! Wow! Of course when I look at each one of them, I find something I wish I did differently. Anyways, from top to bottom, Rough Draft #6, Page Plans #31, 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #46, Dreamgirls, and Getting Sketchy. The first 3 are based on sketches. I used masks on the 4th layout. I was able to use this Heidi Swapp mask for the first time. I also used a little circle and a leaf I cut outAnd I used rub-on tape on the last one. It was included in the prize package I just received today from Paper Popsicles (Unpubbed famer prize).

Special & Thankful

We attended a funeral yesterday. It was 5-hour drive away and we left home 6:30 in the morning and didn't get home until after 10:00 at night. I am not going to write about it here but one thing I wanted to mention is that things like this always make me appreciate everything. I am thankful for the simple fact that I am here typing this post. Anyway I was so tired this morning and couldn't start anything until mid afternoon. These 2 pages are of the photos from a drive we took along Palos Verdes coast. "Special" was done for Use Your Stash button challenge and "Thankful" was done based on Rough Draft #6 and also done for The Story Matters. I used buttons on this one, too.

Go On and Shine, 1 big mess

Finished 2 layouts. The first one is for Scrapping the Music. This week's song is 'video'. The second one is for The Haute Spot (SIStv). Their first challenge is to use an equation. These are both quick, simple layouts. The papers on the first page of course came from my scrap pile. The circle is not really circle. The part that is under the photos is missing. The same for the red paper. It's actually 'L' shape. As far as the papers are concerned, all I added to the second page was 2 small pink squares. I spread the buttons randomly because this page is about a mess.

Listen with your heart

I decided to do a page for OLW today. I haven't participated lately and thought this would be the one to do. The word was "Listen". When I saw this word, I immediately thought of this phrase, "listen with your heart". It came from a song in Pocahontas. My daughter used to love the songs from that movie. Sanded the photo and pleated paper strips to make a frame. Done based on So Sketchy November sketch.

2 layouts

I was off today and had my car fixed. Yay. I scrapped 2 pages today. The first one was done based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #45. I didn't use any photos on this one. Since I was going to include these tickets, I went ahead and put them all in one page. We had a nice drive that day. It was sunny and pretty warm in Palm Springs. You wouldn't think it snowed there. Then when you rode the tram and went up to the top of the mountain, there was a totally different world. We played in the snow and had a good time. The second layout was done for Stash Diet #6. This week's challenge was to use untraditional colors and ribbons. I scrapped the photos from Palm Springs.

Precious

I used lots of scrap papers on this layout. Believe it or not, all I had to do to the squares around the edges was to trim to make 4 sides straight. I keep pretty much everything. I normally use these tiny scraps to make flowers or photo corners. The memorie, the photos, her toys... everything is so precious to me. That's how I picked this title. I submitted this layout to Get your mojo on.

Mmm good

I had a loooooong day. I am sooooo tired. I had this finished earlier today and am now posting. It's about 11:30pm. This was done based on Page Plan sketch #29.

Priceless

There is a new challenge blog. It's called Ad This. You will create a layout based on an ad. Sounded like a fun challenge and I jumped right on it.

I'm a famer!!

I got 15 minutes of fame over at UnPubbed :) I am so excited to be a famer there. I love the styles of DTs and it is a great place to get inspired. Scraplifting is a wonderful way to create a page. You take an already pretty someone's layout and make it your own. Tonight I scrapped another simple layout. This cardstock was already out. I mean I got it out of the drawer a few days ago. In my scrap pile were these L shaped papers. I cut 2 'L's from inside of big 'L'. I did this on 2 different papers. Even some letters came from my scraps. When I cut out letters and if I don't use them because the colors don't match, I keep them. As I mentioned before these photos were in the old album and were already cropped this way. I with I kept them in the original size....This is for the song of the week on Scrapping the Music.

Grateful

Here is a simple page I scrapped tonight. I did it for Stash Diet. As it has been, the papers were the scraps.

Joy

We took this photo when we went to "breakfast with Minnie" in holiday season. The restaurant was decorated with Christmas stuff and we had a breakfast in festive atmosphere. Minnie and her friends came to our table to say hi. She didn't know what to think of all this at first. But by the time we were through eating, she gave a big hug to Daisy. The current challenge on Method Playground is paper pleating. Beside the strip above the photo and 2 corners, the flowers were also made by pleating paper strips. Also all the papers other than the blue cardstock are all from scrap pile:)

Always Fun

This layout came together fairly quickly. I wish every page is like that. This was done based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #44. I started participating Julie's weekly sketch challenge from sketch #4. I was just thinking maybe I would go check sketches #1 to 3. No promises, I was just thinking. And I am excited to say " I'm a winner!" I won on Vanessa's lift hosted by Unpubbed. I really like the DTs' styles there and it's a great place to visit for inspiration.

Halloween & Zoo layouts

I did these 2 layouts based on a same sketch, Pink Sketch #12. I did Halloween one first. I had such a hard time picking papers and this turned out kind of disaster. Matching scraps on this one was hard.... So I decided to try on another layout. 2nd one turned out not much better. But I like the paper combination used for the horizontal band below the photos.

2 layouts

I totally forgot to post these yesterday. I finished 2 layouts yesterday. The top one is a lift of Vanessa's pretty layout on Unpubbed. The bottom one is done with Rough Draft sketch #4. The pink princess paper I used for jounalling was found at the bottom of my scrap box. These photos were taken at a park nearby. It's a big park with a pond, picnic area, etc. I wish we went more often to this playground area. A little piece of red ribbon on the second layout is a left over from the first one. I used this ribbon all up now. I have started on the next layout this morning. But matching scrap papers is getting harder....
