happy
Scraplifting is one of my favorite things to do and that's the current challenge at Method Playground. Deb's layout that we are lifting is so adorable and inspiring. Here is my version.

Silly & Sweet Girls
The current challenge at Method Playground is to alter / dress up buttons. I didn't have any idea at first but I decided to play with buttons and see what I can come up with. I painted and placed some rhinestones before the paint dried on one. I painted and put rub-ons on one. I painted and glittered on a couple of them. I used glitters, bling, pearls on some. I stamped and sealed with glossy accents on a couple of them. I had tons of fun doing these things :) Finally I arranged them to frame the photo. This turned out to be a no-patterned paper layout! I will add some journaling above the photo later. This was definitely an "outside the box" thing for me.

Wrapping up the week...
I don't think I have posted these layouts. These are the ones I made last weekend. I finished a page tonight but my dd took my camera and can't post it yet. I made this first one here for Method Playground challenge. I stamped white and kraft cardstock to make patterned papers. I like how it turned out.

Bliss
I created this page for Method Playground challenge. It is to simplify your layout. You can use some cardstock, one patterned paper, markers and paints. I used a double sided K & Co paper. I also used white paint for the title. Blue and green cardstocks are from my scrap pile. I like how this page turned out. I should do this more often :)

I've been productive...
Hope everybody had a good 4th. We went to my husband's sister's for BBQ. We had a very good time. After my husband's parents left, we stayed and talked to my sister-in-law and her husband for a while. We had a nice visit. Despite of a limited scrappin time, I managed to create this many this weekend. I actually made one more. But I can't post that one yet. Most of these pages were created using sketches... from Capture These Sketches, 52 Sketches...52 Weeks, and Pink Sketch. Snow White layout was done for Scrapping Around the Clock's monochromatic challenge. And the stitching on it was for Method Playground's stitching challenge. The last one was for Scrappy Times' Suzy Blu inspo.

Dragon
It's storming outside and my tv lost the satellite signal. Hate that..... We had a bad storm last night and kept me awake. Some areas got serious damage. Hope this one won't be as bad. Did this page for Method Playground challenge. It is to create a monochromatic page and I chose black. I had done pink, yellow, and green recently and wanted to try different color. I thought red on the photo would stand out on black but it was harder than I thought. Black really doesn't have hues. They would probably gray bud I don't have any. I just gathered all the black items around and put them together. The dragon is a Rose Parade float.

Pumpkin & Cute Angler
I am so sleepy now. I probably need to do this tomorrow night, but I'm sure I wouldn't have any more time tomorrow than tonight. There isn't enough time to do everything I want to do. I created 2 pages tonight. The first one is titled pumpkin. I know I won't have much time scrapping this weekend so I went ahead and cover multiple challenges with this one. I used 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #10, did Tara's recipe challenge (3 pics, 2 circles, 2 pp, 1 ribbon, 1 word title), also did Method Playground's current challenge (stamping on non-paper), and one more... CMIH (to include 3 pics). I feel I cheated but with limited time, I just wanted to make sure I get them done. Maybe I get to do some more if I had time. On the other hand, I'm kinda proud of the fact I did 1 page for 4 challenges. The second page titled cute angler was done based on Pink sketch #23 and also did for Tara's use your stash challenge. Those K & Co papers and Anna Griffin paper are from 2003. I didn't know manufacturers at all when I bought them in 2004 and until I looked at the back of the paper tonight to see the year, I didn't know I had Anna Griffin paper! Now I've got to go to bed. Good night.

Priceless
Those prices are from 2005. I'm sure they are much higher now. I think I messed up with the stamps. I first thought of typing it on the computer but these stamps are Disney princess font and would fit here. I just can't use the stamps that well. Need more practice. Anyway I did this page useing 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #9. This was done also for the current challenge at BASB (scrap about cost) and Method Playground (to use papers from 5 different manufacturers: Cosmo Criket, EK success, SEI, MMI, DCWV). I really liked working on these challenges and the sketch. I might do another one.

You are fabulous
When I found out new challenge being journaling on the photo on Method Playground. I hesitated. I thought maybe.... maybe not. Because I don't usually play with the photos themselves. But then new challenge on Dreamgirls included journaling on the photo as well. Then I decided to try. I just added text to a photo and printed it. Another element on Dreamgirls challenge was to use something clear as a background. I don't have any overlays or acrylic. All I have is some transparency frames. So this is what I came up with.

Budding Artist
My dd asked Santa for a paint set. I scrapped a photo of her first piece. She got this done the next day and it didn't take her that long to finish it. She has painted 3 more since than. It is something I can't come up with and it really amazes me how she creates them. She can't really explain it to me though. This pad is 24' x 18'... it's big. I think she would make a better scrapper than me. But so far she has no interest. I used some scraps to decorate this page. Also I used crayon resist technique, the current challenge on Method Playground, to create the frame. I drew lines with a blueish color crayon and painted with water down acrylic paint over the lines to create painted wood frame feel.

So Sweet
I used Doodlebug flock on this layout. It is the current challenge on Method Playground. I kept it pretty simple. The photos were taken at McDonald. I was working early hours and was picking her up at 4:00pm. After supper, we would walk over there and play for a little while.

You, Daisy
I had gone to bed about an hour and half ago but couldn't sleep. So I got out of bed and remembered I hadn't posted what I finished tonight (or it's already yesterday). The first one is Melissa's lift on UnPubbed. The photo sizes were just perfect to scraplift her pretty LO. There she was, not cooperating for me to take good photos... The second LO was for Method Playground. The new challenge is paper poking. I normally poke holes when I stitch..both real and fake... This time I poked the background design on the cardstock. I poked then decided to use the reverse side of the cardstock as front side. I did the horrible paint job though.... I got lazy and didn't use a brush. I just didn't want to get up and go wash the brush afterwards. Anyway, I like this poked design. I may use it to stitch next time.

Joy
We took this photo when we went to "breakfast with Minnie" in holiday season. The restaurant was decorated with Christmas stuff and we had a breakfast in festive atmosphere. Minnie and her friends came to our table to say hi. She didn't know what to think of all this at first. But by the time we were through eating, she gave a big hug to Daisy. The current challenge on Method Playground is paper pleating. Beside the strip above the photo and 2 corners, the flowers were also made by pleating paper strips. Also all the papers other than the blue cardstock are all from scrap pile:)

More LOs today
I finished 2 layouts today. Both for challenges. The first one is for Method Playground and Use Your Stash. Both had rub-on challenge. The title, brackets, decorations on top of photos are all rub-ons. I don't have many rub-ons and can't be very generous with them (lol). The second LO was for the new challenge blog, Get your MOJO on. Their first challenge was to create a page about a word that means a lot to me. In my head, there was a picture/formula, humor --> laugh --> happy --> peace. I just love to watch her being silly. I didn't like the color of the button and painted it pink. These LOs turned out quite simple. For better, clearer images, please see my gallary.

Fun Ride
We rode this kiddie ride together. It looked like a fun ride. We saw lots of kids riding. Megan thought it was so much fun. She rode for the second time. But I thought it was a little scary and asked my brother-in-law to ride with her. The slope was a lot steeper than it looked. I did this for Method Playground's current challenge, chipboard piecing. I pieced ladybug. I found this flower-ladybug paper in my stack. I'm so glad I was finally able to use it. I bought it when I first started scrapping. I trimmed a raw leaf shaped chipboard and applied black ink. Then I marked dots on a red heart shaped chipboard and put it on top of the first one. I also cut a half circle from a small leaf chipboard, inked, and put it on top of the other two pieces. I am happy when all this came together.

Wish
I tried a new technique. It is a challenge over on Method Playground and it is to lift the paint/reverse stamp. I didn't really know what that was about. I followed the tips provided there. I first painted and let it dry. Then I applied paint and glossy accent together on top of semi-dried paint. I reverse stamped with x shaped foam stamp. The painted area is shining and hard to see. There is a close up image on SIS TV gallary. Again I used some paper scraps.
