Enjoy

I hope I am interpreting the challenge right. The current challenge at BASB is to repeat an element you like several times on a layout. I chose "polka dots". I used polka dots in different items; papers, ribbons, brads, Thickers, and a flower. I didn't realize I had this much polka dots!

So Sweet

I don't think I have created any other pages like this one here before. The current challenge at BASB is to scrap a page using rub-ons, stamps, and border punches. What a combination huh? Stamping is already a difficult challenge for me. I hadn't used this border punch that much since I bought it in December. Rub-ons are something I don't quite know how to use. So it was a good exercise for me to do this page :) I stamped directly onto the cardstock and you can tell I need more practice. I got to do the layering thing with the border strips which I had been wanting to try. Anyway, I can say I'm glad I did this challenge and I'm pretty happy with this layout :)

Bob (the pen)

Don't ask me why but she had named one of her pens "Bob" and she couldn't find it when we moved and unpacked boxes. She was so happy when she finally found him..LOL. She used to doodle a lot on her hands back then, too. Anyway I created this page for BASB's challenge. It is to scrap with cardstock only with minimal use of small embellishments. I glimmermisted the small cardstock circles to make lollipop flowers. I have done no patterned papers pages before but I find it harder to make cardstock only pages. Those girls over there are so great with it though. The examples are very pretty!

Sunshine

Since I was working on "go mini" challenge for BASB, my initial plan was to decorate just a little around the photo. But after masking on one side was done, I desided to add to the other side and this is what I ended up with.

Ball Game

My dd's school started today. We didn't do much this Summer and going to a ball game was one of a very few things we did together. To include a memorabilia on a page is the current challenge at BASB. Like every other scrapper, I do save those tickets and brochures. And I used one of them from the game. I have 2 more :)

Moro Rock

Organization is something I think every body wants to be good at. I know I do. I'm posting a page about a camping trip that we made a few summers ago and a box that I store some embellies. I decorated an empty box for this. Since I move it a lot, I kept it simple. Both of these are BASB's current challenge. Liz is sharing some cute and practical organizational ideas there as well.

Princess

Father's day sunday is almost over. Hope all the fathers out there had a good day. We did the same thing we did for Mother's day today. Had family gathering with a delicious dinner.
I didn't do much scrapping this weekend though. I put this page together tonight. It came pretty quickly. I made it for the current BASB challenge. It is a monochromatic challenge and I chose pink. This photo was my dd's very first school picture. She had just started pre-school. I wasn't surprised when these photos came back. She just wouldn't smile for the photographers back then. As a matter of fact, her 2nd school picture a year later was a same way.... serious look, no smile.

Hair Styling

I scrapped these photos from one Christmas morning for BASB's current challenge to use punches. I don't have border punches so I create my own.

Moved by...

The new prompt at BASB is to scrap about the artist who inspired you. Since I am working on my dd's albums, I asked her. She showed me a couple of You Tube videos. One was the song that I included on the layout and another was a poetry titled 'Away from her'. I have never heard of Andrew Landon before.... She wouldn't elaborate as to why or how she came to know about him and his songs/poems. She said these are not make-up stories. He writes about his own life experiences. Anyway, I decided to document just this much. I got the feeling she would give me a different name if I asked her again next year!

Magical

Here is what I did for the latest challenge that just came out today on BASB. It is to use something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue. For something new, I used die-cuts from Making Memories Just Chillin' line and some pearls from Queen and Co. For something old, I used a circle tag and Jolee's photo corners. For something borrowed, I pleated a paper strip and added cut out butterflies. La Verne's example layout inspired me to do this. And for something blue, I used blue felt border flowers. These photos are.... you guessed it.... Rose Parade float photos. It's storming outside. The perfect day to scrap :)

Beauty & Rain Forest Cafe

It's already a week into April and it should be warm but it was frosty this morning! Then it warmed up to about 70 degrees. We've got one crazy weather! Here are the 2 pages I scrapped tonight. The first one was done for DSI #4. This one was to use black base, journaling strips, multiple small photos, patterned papers cut into the same size as photos. Since I can't print small photos, I thought I would pass this one. Then I thought maybe I could cut a 4x6 photo into 6 2x2 pieces. And that's what I did. I had hard time arranging those pieces though. It looks better when you flip this page 90 degrees. What do you think ?? The second page was done for BASB. This one was also hard. This is to use plain paper/card stock, stams and photos. I am not a stamp person. I didn't have any idea what else to do with this. I thought of stamping the background with different color inks but I got lazy...didn't want to clean the stamp each time. So here is the result. Anyway these were tough!

Priceless

Those prices are from 2005. I'm sure they are much higher now. I think I messed up with the stamps. I first thought of typing it on the computer but these stamps are Disney princess font and would fit here. I just can't use the stamps that well. Need more practice. Anyway I did this page useing 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #9. This was done also for the current challenge at BASB (scrap about cost) and Method Playground (to use papers from 5 different manufacturers: Cosmo Criket, EK success, SEI, MMI, DCWV). I really liked working on these challenges and the sketch. I might do another one.

Don't splash me!

This was done for BASB's current challenge. It is to scrap what irks you. I sat out the last challenge and wanted to participate this one. But it took me a while to come up with the idea. Since I am working on my dd's album, I picked these photos from the next set of photos I am scrapping. She loved floating but didn't like to be splashed. I used Page Plans sketch #45. It's a loose interpretation of the sketch.

Simple Layouts

It's Saturday. Afternoon already. The first 2 I'm posting are the layouts I worked on Thursday and finished last night. The first one was for the challenge on Scrappy Times. It is to create a page about your favorite things. I had to ask my dd. The most of the thinks on this list I knew already but I didn't know her favorite number and season. So it was a good thing I did this page. I made this page very simple. Used a transparency for the frame. No distressing of any kind. The second one was made for ScrapStars' current challenge. They provided a sketch to use. So this one came along fairly easily. And last night I found this challenge blog called BASB. It happened that the current challenge is to create a page with only ONE patterned paper. I thought what a great timing, I just made one, thinking about "my favorites". But I realized I used cardstock to mat the photo. So I made another layout this morning. I picked this photo last night but couldn't choose a paper. It took me a while. I decided on this simple paper and went ahead and put the photo in the center and added a ribbon around it. I wished I had thought through before I did it.... because I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. Anyway after strugling some more, I finished it. I used non-paper items to decorate. I like all 3 simple layouts here.
