Sunday Post

It's gotten a little warmer this week and that's a good thing. I am ready for the sunshine. I have slowed down this week as far as my scrapping goes. I kept going way too much last month and it doesn't last as long as I want it to...... hey I'm old...LOL I still have a few more on my list but I just don't feel like working on them. I picked up my February photos this afternoon though. I know I want to do a 2 pager for my Project 12 next weekend.

Trick or Treat and Happy & Free

I made only 2 pages this week. I don't do well when the time changes and I was tired most of the week. Plus, I wasn't feeling all that great this week. I am hoping I can get some scrapping done this weekend. We'll see. We may go for a drive tomorrow. Anyway, about these pages.... the first one was created based on a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. It is a Halloween photo from 1998. She was 4 and that was the first time we took her trick-or-treating to the neighborhood. We went with her aunt and her cousin. She had a blast. The second page was done using a sketch from Pink Sketches. These photos are of her first visit to Disneyland. We snapped a few photos on Mickey's car right outside his house. I also combined this one with Scrapping the Music. The song of the week is a theme song of Happy Days. Love that show!! Have a nice weekend :)

I Believe

The current challenge at Scrapping out Loud is to use hand-made flowers and I made them with papers. The word of the week is "positive" and when I saw it, I thought of the page I was going to make for Scrapping the Music. The song of the week is "We are the World" and the phrase I was getting inspired and the word "positive" connected together in my head. Here is the result. I used Scrapping out Loud's sketch of the week as well.

Happy Friday

I know I am behind posting some layouts here. I am hoping I will catch up with that this weekend. Here is a page I made tonight for Scrapping the Music challenge.

Dance

I scrapped this page last night. This layout was created inspired by the song of the week on Scrapping the Music; What I like about you. I used this photo of my dd taken before we went to a recital.

Glad You Came

I made this page tonight inspired by Cheer's theme song. It is the song of the week on Scrapping the Music. I messed up the dates last week and missed deadline so this week I made sure I would work on this early. I also used Sue's sketch from My Sketch World. In this picture, she was holding the (I forgot the name of this type of album) mini album she made. She was invited to her friend's birthday party and it was crop party at LSS!! She brought the photos from our trip to Sequoia National Park and she picked out green papers for her album.

4 Layouts

Here are some pages I created this week. The first one was done based on a sketch from Page Maps. The 2nd one was done last night. This was made inspired by Scrapping the Music's song of the week, "because of you" by Kelly Clarkson. Isn't there another "because of you" ?? Anyway this phrase on my page is what came up to me... a little different from Kelly's song. The last one "grin" was scrapped using a sketch from DUS.

In Love with This Girl

I used Stickles for the first time. I bought a 3-bottle-pack last week. I painted a rainbow with 4 different colors then rubbed some Stickles over. This page was made inspired by the song of the week at Scrapping the Music and done based on Pink Sketch #36.

Heaven's Gift

There are some "firsts" on this page. I tried masking with Maya mist. I sprayed Maya mist on circles cut out of coffee filter to make a flower. I used a paper clip. I had never done those things before. I did this page based on a sketch from Scrappy Times, inspired by the song of the week (You are so beautiful) from Scrapping the Music. I also made this one for Murder Mystery Mansion challenge (use of color, item, technique) on We Scrap. They just went together.

Dream

I created this page based on this week's 52 Sketches...52 Weeks sketch and inspired by 'Dream On' by Aerosmith, the song of the week on Scrapping the Music. She took these photos herself yesterday. I ordered them online and picked them up on my way home from work. On the right photo, she was reading a text message on her cell phone.... She hasn't gotten tired of it yet.

Rockin'

Here is the layout I made tonight for Scrapping the Music. This week's song is "We will rock you" by Queen. I like the song but had hard time coming up with the idea. Just by looking at DT members' creations, I realized there are so many different interpretations. So this is what I came up with. I also used March sketch from My Sketch World. I used just 2 photos instead of 4.

Hello Hello

Here is the page I did inspired by this week's song, Hello by Sugarbomb on Scrapping the Music.
This is also for Thynner's challenge 4. It is to create bright, bold page and include something big.

Getting some pages done...

is not so easy sometimes. I had 3-day weekend and I thought I was going to create a lot more pages than I actually ended up with. One of these 2 I am posting today was done yesterday. I have a couple more great sketches to work with but just can't pick the photos... Anyway, the first one on here was inspired by STM's song, 1234. I used Pink Sketch #21 to create this page. The second one was based on So Sketchy sketch. I also did this for Tara's song challenge (title) and UYS's ribbon challenge (I made a ribbon flower and wrapped around the heart chipboard).

Reflect What You Are

The song of the week is "I'll be your mirror" over at Scrapping the Music. I sat out last one so I made this one right away. She took this photo herself.

Why your days off go so fast ? I wish I had another day to stay home. I was off today and spent the most of it scrapping. I also went to the craft store and bought American Crafts' D-ring album. I hear great things about them and I had never used a ring album. Since they were having 50% off sale, I thought this would be a good opportunity. I didn't forget to grab a refill pack :) Actually the reason I went out was to go to the scrapbooking store. I wanted to get a mist. That craft store doesn't carry and I don't own any either. It is the current challenge on Method Playground. But guess what!? That scrapbooking store have gone out of business!! I guess I will sit out this one. Anyway I am posting the pages I have created the last few days. The first 2 layouts were done for Scrapping the Music. This week's song is 'Colors'. This song is one of the greatest songs to get inspo. You could create a page for each sentence in the song. The first one is 'yellow'. I also used a sketch from Page Maps. This sketch was also a puzzle sketch on CCAS. The next page is the color purple. This design was inspired by the last week's Ad This ad. The page titled Sweet Memories was done based on Page Maps sketch for their sweet challenge. Also I did it for CMIH. This month' challenge is to use a callendar something. It happened to be included in a prize package from Rough Draft last month. The next one titled 'Just For You' was done based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks sketch #3. And the last one was done for Dreamgirls current challenge. It is to use old pp, paper tearing, and the title starting with 'I'm not'.

Pictures of Us

The inspiration for this layout came from the song 'Pictures of You' by The Last Goodnight, the song of the week on Scrapping the Music. It makes us realize that the pictures represent our histories. I did this one like hanging the photos on the wall. The strips of papers were found in the scrap box. I need to get some more white cardstocks though. I got a few the other day to do Dreamgirls challenge (I used black one for it) and have used them all. I love having the white background.

2 Layouts

Happy Monday! My first one tonight was actually done last night. It was based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks sketch #52 and inspired by Jewel's song, 'hands'. This is the song of the week on Scrapping the Music. And the second layout was done for Dreamgirls challenge. It is to use the word 'new' and make it black/white layout. And handmade embellishment is the only additional color. I think I used one of the corner stamps for the first time.

Cousins & All I want for X'mas

Sunday night comes way too quickly. I spent most of the weekend Christmas shopping. I was almost done but I just couldn't find the last couple of gifts. I will be wrapping the gifts sometime this week. Anyway I am posting 2 pages tonight. The first one is titled 'Cousins' and it was done based on Rough Draft sketch #10. It turned out simple. I thought of decorating some more above the photo area but desided to leave it simple. The second one was submitted to 2 challenge blogs; Scrapping the Music and The Pretty Committee. I created this page on Wednesday but waited till today to post. I've been following The Pretty Committee challenges but I sat out every one of them until this one. They have great prompts and DTs layouts look beautiful. It's just not what I normally scrap since my subject is mainly my DD. I also knew the song of the week for today's reveal over on Scrapping the Music. So I went ahead and scrapped this page and waited until after the new challenge posted. They both have 'All I want for Christmas is...' challenge. I just want a family photo.

3 Layouts

These photos were all taken last Saturday. We went shopping. The first one was done for Scrapping the Music using 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #49. I bought laces for the first time and used some on this page. The next two were done for The Story Matters and Dreamgirls. I started to participate Julie's 52 Sketches from sketch #4. So I used sketches #1 and #3 to do those 2 pages. I used black magic green cardstock from Coordination. I tore it. I used green side up to mat the photos. I also sanded and put beverage names with the blue stickers. On the last layout, I used the paint to stamp the title. I had never done that before and the first letter 'C' was kind messed up. And I couldn't make that title straight..... oh well.

In my life I love you more

This is something I created tonight. This was done for Scrapping the Music. The song of the week is 'In My Life' by Beatles. I wanted to add some more journaling strips and put actual lylics on them but I used up that particular piece of scrap and didn't want to look for something else. May be later. But for now this is it!
