Girl Power

I went to donate blood after work today. So I got home later than usual. I still haven't finished decorating our tree. It's up and we got the boxes of ornaments and other Christmas stuff out though. I normally don't wrap the gifts until the tree is up. I think I'm done shopping, but I know there is always a last minute shopping to do. I want to scrap a few more pages by the end of this week..... I need more than 24 hours a day for sure!! Here is the page I made last night. This week's and their last (so sad.....) challenge over at Scrapping Out Loud is to use the colors of the rainbow. This paper from Cosmo Cricket has the most of the colors I needed I immediately decided on using it. I also used a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I will add some more journaling later.

Style

I just finished this page. I've been wanting to participate Scrapping Out Loud's challenge but had no clue what to do with. It's ribbon weaving. I understood the concept but couldn't come up with any idea how I could incorporate it with a layout. Anyway, I thought maybe this photo of my dd with the brick wall background would go with weaving.

STAR

I know I used this title on a page recently. That was a before-recital photo a few years prior to this one. I wanted to come up with a different title but with the alphas I had left of those large chipboard letters, this was the only one I could come up with. The current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is to use oversized embellishments/letters. I used a large Heidi Swapp flower also. Since there was no sketch provided this week, I used a sketch from Capture These Sketches. My layout doesn't look anything like it though.....

The Joy of Life

I really enjoy participating the challenges over at Scrapping Out Loud. The current one is about time. I used a clock chipboard. I also used their sketch and the word of the week, moments.

Pocahontas

Since Halloween is approaching, I chose these photos for this page. This was done for the current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud. It is to use raw chipboard. I had never used them this way but I love that!! I also used their sketch of the week. My dd used to love Pocahontas at that age and when I saw this costume, I grabbed it right away. She had a great Halloween.

My own

The current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is doodling which I thought would be easy enough for me. I am not that creative to come up with some clever ideas but I knew I could draw something. BUT, what kept me from starting was the sketch. The more I looked at it the more blank I got. So I left it until today. And here is what I came up with. It turned out to be quite simple.

Aren't They The Cutest ?

I was finally able to scrap these photos. I don't have them in bigger sizes and wasn't sure how I wanted to scrap them. Anyway, I made this page for the current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud. It's about motif. I used the cutouts from a couple of patterned papers. I used the word of the week "cutest" and the sketch of the week as well. Since they provide a sketch and a word, it makes it so much easier for me to start working on it. These are the pics of my dd and my niece. They are now 15!

I Believe

The current challenge at Scrapping out Loud is to use hand-made flowers and I made them with papers. The word of the week is "positive" and when I saw it, I thought of the page I was going to make for Scrapping the Music. The song of the week is "We are the World" and the phrase I was getting inspired and the word "positive" connected together in my head. Here is the result. I used Scrapping out Loud's sketch of the week as well.

Life is an adventure.

I created this page for the current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud. It is to use a quote for the title and to use only one part of speech. When I saw the challenge along with the word of the week being adventure, this quote came to my mind and I knew I was going to play along. I chose verbs to use and also lifted Rachel's pretty layout.

Sweet Girl

I haven't completed as many layouts as I wanted to this past week. Maybe I was so tired by the time I started scrapting at night. I had a busy week at work. Anyway I just finished this one for Scrapping out Loud. I started this one 3 days ago. This week's challenge was to use seasonal papers. I used silver winter paper and red valentine paper on this page. I also used their word of the week and the sketch of the week :)

Ballerina

Ripping is the challenge at Scrapping out Loud this week. I didn't want to just tear a straight line. My first attempt was to tear a paper into shapes of a heart or a big flower. But it was not easy and I messed them up. I also tried to rip a couple of chipboard tags. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be. Anyway, this is what I ended up with.

Our Great Memory

I don't know why we distress the perfectly fine papers. But I love my distresser and distressing with it. That's the challenge on Scrapping out Loud this week. I also used their sketch of the week. I scrapped a photo taken at California Adventure park. Ferris Wheel ride in the photo was a lot scarier than it looked!! Those baskets rock back and forth as well as going circles all the way around the wheel. My dd thought it was fun and kept laughing until we got off.

Indiana Jones

When we went to Disneyland, we started from Adventure Land. Indiana Jones ride was such a fun! I did this page for the color challenge over at Scrapping out Loud. I also used a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks.

Precious

Happy Friday Eve!! I can't wait for tomorrow evening. I like the fact that I don't have to worry too much about time Friday nights. Anyway here is what I just finished. I did this for Scrapping out Loud. The prompt for the current challenge is "fire". What is the one thing you would save when your house is on fire after your family have safely escaped and your scrapbooking everything has been saved ? Mine would be the cards and gifts my dd made for me especially the ones she made for Mother's Day. They are my treasures! I also used their sketch of the week. I love this sketch!!

Giggle

Happy happy Friday!! It was a short week, end of the month, busy week!! I just finished up this layout that I started last night. This was created for Scrapping out Loud's current challenge; layer embellishments. I also scraplifted Pat's pretty page :)

Leaf Fun

The current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is to use not-so-good photos. Well I have plenty of those. I also used the sketch of the week. We were having a birthday party the next day and were trying to tidy up the house. We had just moved into this house a couple of weeks prior.

Hands on Experience

I created this page last night for Scrapping Out Loud. This week's prompt is to create a page inspired by this Chinese proverb: Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll understand. I also used their sketch and the word of the week. I used the photos of my dd helping me with dishes :)

Cherish the Moment

I'm still scrapping Rose Parade float photos. Just a little more to go. I created this page for this week's challenge on Scrapping Out Loud. It is to use the color you never use. That would be purple for me. Looks like purple is not a popular color when it comes to scrapbooking. I have never used purple as the main color before. I realize I don't use yellow or orange either. I scrapped using the sketch and the title of the week. I'm pretty happy with how this page turned out :)
