This is based on Pink Sketch #7. Lookin at this LO on screen, I needed to add some more or choose a little brighter color paper for the horizontal band. Oh well.....

Laughter
Ok. I think I am a challengeholic. I found this challenge blog called I Inspire Me. You get inspirations from things around you, around your home. The current challenge is to get inspiration from linens and textures. I got it form a pillow (second image). The color combo, red-beige-turquise is what I came up with. I was able to use some scraps as well. I think I will be checking out their next challenge.

Foreever Young
I used Ed's sketch to do this LO for Scrapping the Music challenge. I didn't make it to the deadline by about 10 minutes though.... I was going to finish last night but I did't feel good and went to bed instead. Well today is Sunday and new sketches are coming out. Let me go check them out...

Cute
I scrapped 3 quick pages last night. And this is what I just finished today. This one is based on Gretchen's sketch over on SIStv blog. This sketch was very easy to work with. I used 2 photos instead of 1.

Fun Ride
We rode this kiddie ride together. It looked like a fun ride. We saw lots of kids riding. Megan thought it was so much fun. She rode for the second time. But I thought it was a little scary and asked my brother-in-law to ride with her. The slope was a lot steeper than it looked. I did this for Method Playground's current challenge, chipboard piecing. I pieced ladybug. I found this flower-ladybug paper in my stack. I'm so glad I was finally able to use it. I bought it when I first started scrapping. I trimmed a raw leaf shaped chipboard and applied black ink. Then I marked dots on a red heart shaped chipboard and put it on top of the first one. I also cut a half circle from a small leaf chipboard, inked, and put it on top of the other two pieces. I am happy when all this came together.

Spring
I had hard time choosing papers on this one. The strips are scraps. Used some lace paper too. Based on Pink Sketch #6. Boy, I was fat back then. (not that I am skinny now...)

Fun at the park
I really miss those days we slided down over and over together. It was so much fun. This LO was done using Page Plans sketch #23. I tried to use some more scraps. I did fake stitching on the curved strips.

You
When I got home today, I got on the phone and talked to some of my friends for 2 hours! It was great to catch up with them. I treasure the friendship with them so much. I need to call more often. Anyway I like the way this layout turned out. This is based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks sktech #37. I was able to use some of the scraps as well.

Carefree
There is a child in me.
I made this LO about me. I don't normally scrap myself. I think this is my first LO that is focusing on me. The journaling is also focused on me. This one is for SYC's current challenge and InkaDink's first challenge. This is a new challenge blog I discovered last week. I am definitely a challenge-holic.

Wish
I tried a new technique. It is a challenge over on Method Playground and it is to lift the paint/reverse stamp. I didn't really know what that was about. I followed the tips provided there. I first painted and let it dry. Then I applied paint and glossy accent together on top of semi-dried paint. I reverse stamped with x shaped foam stamp. The painted area is shining and hard to see. There is a close up image on SIS TV gallary. Again I used some paper scraps.

Here is the layout I just finished. This is for Scrapping the Music. This week's challenge song is "Girls just want to have fun" by Cyndi Lauper.

Delight
I saw a rainbow today when I was coming home from work. It was a complete one. You could see it from the bottom of one side all the way to the other end. When I left the parking in downtown, right above me was a blue sky. I saw some dark clouds far away. As I was driving east toward home, I was driving as if I was going right under the rainbow. Then, it rained. It didn't get heavier gradually. It came down cats and dogs in an instant. I really hate that. I could hardly see. Then it stopped all the sudden. The road was all dry. How weird.... Thunder storms and showers are not rare at all here but I don't see the rainbows that often. Anyway here is today's layout.
This is a quick page using some scraps.

Little Lady
I enjoyed working with this sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I turned the sketch sideways. These SEI papers I got a couple of weeks ago are so pretty. Love the whole pack. This photo was 8 x 10. I cut it to this size.

2 Years Old
This 2-pager is a continuation from the previous 2-pager. 2 in a row!!! I was going to have 3 photos on each side of the page to keep it close to the sketch. But I thought I would have the last 2 photos on the same page than creating a separate layout. The number 2 on each page are from a birthday card she received. They were kept in the old album with photos. The sketch is Pink Sketch #4.

Celebrate...
This 2-page layout is done based on Page Plans #21. I don't do 2 pagers that much. As matter fact, I don't know how many I have done, 1 maybe 2.... I don't have a large size photo, so I used multiple of them to create a large photo block. Ideally, I would want to make it a clean square, but these are what I had and I didn't crop them any smaller. These photos here are not that good if you look at them one by one. But this was a happy, fun time that I want and I want us to remember forever. The 2 orange/yellow papers and flower printed vellum are Disney Pooh papers I bought long time ago. I finally used them!
You & Me
I was going to make this layout a lot simpler. But I added a couple more chipboards and a piece of ribbon. There was this coffee shop on Main Street there and everytime we went, we would get coffee and maybe a muffin and sit outside and watch people walking by. Done for Use Your Stash September challenge.

Huntington Beach
After I chose this paper, my mind was totally blank. I had no idea what to do. And the reason I picked this paper.....? It's very simple. I was going thru my paper stack and noticed that Creative Imaginations is out of Huntington Beach, CA. I still don't know about this one. Maybe I will add some more journaling or embelishment... maybe. But for now, this is it.

Happy Day
Ok. When I came home from work earlier and saw this layout I did yesterday sitting on the floor, I noticed there was a word missing. Fortunately it was a very short one and since it really bothered me, I scooted letters and added the word 'be'. I guess because the letter stickers were on the paint, it was easy enough to do so. It is uploaded to SIStv gallery. But I have already submitted this one to Scrapping the Music yesterday.... oh well... And I scrapped this layout tonight based on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #35. I used the sketch sideways and smaller.

It's your life
This is not how I planned when I cut out the photo. I was going to paint around the photo and maybe right side of the photo. The journaling was going to go on that painted area with strips. But this is what I ended up with. When I was cutting out these flowers out of a paper, I was going to put them in one area. Then I realized I cut out enough to surround the photo. So I did. Anyway this one was inspired by the song, 'It's My Life' by Bon Jovi. This is the song of the week over on Scrapping the Music.

2 more LOs
I finished 2 more today. The first one is based on Pencil Lines #100. All circles. I was going to scrap this Christmas photo this weekend and when I saw this sketch, the ornaments came to my mind. I made those paper flowers again topped with flower stickers. I was actually going to use 8x10 photo which would have been too big. Amazingly I had this smaller photo. This may be the only package that included this size photo and I had just one left :) The second layout is my very first 6 x 12 layout based on Becky's sketch on Page Maps. It was a lot easier than I thought. My pages are all 12 x 12 and I never realized how easy it is when the space is smaller especially when you have a sketch to work with. I will mount it on 12 x 12 cardstock when putting it in the album.
Full of Wonder
As hurricane Gustav is approaching, it's been raining here. We went to a store yesterday to get some water and some canned foods just in case of power outage. Many shelves were all empty. The hotel and motel rooms in this are all booked. And shelters are filling with the evacuees. We laid the basketball goal on the ground. The generator is ready at my in-law's. Things are strapped down in the neibors' yards. I just hope this won't be another Katrina. Anyway here is the layout I am posting. This one was done based on Page Plans #20. I used the papers I bought Saturday. I am almost done with another layout. Maybe I can post later today.
