I went to a grand opening of new Michaels this afternoon. The floor layout of this store was a lot different from other Michaels that I know. And it seemed to have a lot more scrapbooking supplies. What's better is that it is located right across from Hobby Lobby I go to for my supplies and it's a lot closer than another Michaels. This also means I can get different brands. Today, I got some Prima flowers and a paper pad. The pink paper and the flowers on this page are from my purchase today. This was done for Cafe Mojo's stitching challenge. I also sanded the photos. I tried sanding once before but found it kinda hard. This time I placed the photos on the edge of tin and sanded and it was so much easier.

Hair Styling
I scrapped these photos from one Christmas morning for BASB's current challenge to use punches. I don't have border punches so I create my own.

Layouts
The rest of the layouts I made this weekend. I scrapped the first one today. I was thinking about doing something else when I saw this sketch on my scrap paper. It is this month' BAP on Prima. I truely love this sketch but my Prima supplies are very limited and I wasn't sure if I could make a page. Anyway I decided to put this page together. I had one patterned paper, 2 large scraps of different patterned papers and letter chipboard of Prima. The heart isn't a complete one. If it wasn't for the prize I got last year, I wouldn't have any Prima. The second page was done based on MSW sketch and the last one was done based on the current sketch from Pink Sketch. I also made it for Butterfly Crafts. Their current one is to create a page using your favorite color. Blue was my dd's favorite color back then.

I am so glad today was a holiday. It's storming outside now. I feel a lot better today and got a few pages done. This page here I created this morning is for Cafe Mojo's eyelet challenge. That is a kind of challenge I can always use. This design is a new sketch on 52 Sketches...52 Weeks.

I Wanna Help
It's Sunday afternoon and this is the only layout I have completed. I used 52 Sketches...52 Weeks #20 sideways. I started this one Friday night. I had planned to finish up this one and create a couple more yesterday. But I woke up sick and ended up staying in bed most of the day. I also wanted to go to the store to take advantage of 50% off sale on ribbons and I couldn't do that either. Unfortunately yesterday was the last day of the sale. Despite of the headache I had last night and this morning, I managed to participate in blog hop hosted by Cards For Heros. It's better to let them explain what they do, so I encourage you to visit their site. One of the purposes of this blog hop was to raise the awareness, so I decided to mention it on my blog. All I did was to visit the blogs. I got inspired in so many ways.

Leaf Fun
The current challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is to use not-so-good photos. Well I have plenty of those. I also used the sketch of the week. We were having a birthday party the next day and were trying to tidy up the house. We had just moved into this house a couple of weeks prior.

Live, Love, Laugh
Dreamgirls' current challenge is to use this quote, a piece of fabric, the colors red, turguoise, black, and white, cut-up pieces of a patterned paper for embellishments. I used Tara's sketch.

Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney was wonderful. We went to his concert in Little Rock last night. It's 6 hour drive away and we are so exhausted. We saw my husband's friend from High School and his family before the concert. We spent the night in Memphis.... we got there about 2:00am. We had lunch with my husband's friend that he hadn't seen a few years before we left Memphis. We had a great weekend :)

You R Pretty
I have been sick all week and I hated it. I am so glad it's Friday night. It means I don't have to get up early to go to work tomorrow!! I created this page tonight. I did this for a Danish blog called A Little Birdie Told Me. This month challenge is to be colorful. It was so much fun to do this one :) And one more thing... Sarah is doing another RAK and something exciting is happening to her. You can find her right here.
Melissa's Giveaway
Melissa is offering a giveaway on her blog. She creates such beautiful cards. I don't get tired of looking at them. Her blog is right here!

Moved by...
The new prompt at BASB is to scrap about the artist who inspired you. Since I am working on my dd's albums, I asked her. She showed me a couple of You Tube videos. One was the song that I included on the layout and another was a poetry titled 'Away from her'. I have never heard of Andrew Landon before.... She wouldn't elaborate as to why or how she came to know about him and his songs/poems. She said these are not make-up stories. He writes about his own life experiences. Anyway, I decided to document just this much. I got the feeling she would give me a different name if I asked her again next year!

Hands on Experience
I created this page last night for Scrapping Out Loud. This week's prompt is to create a page inspired by this Chinese proverb: Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll understand. I also used their sketch and the word of the week. I used the photos of my dd helping me with dishes :)
Me at 15
I probably mentioned before that I keep all my scraps.... even tiny pieces. I used them to punch out small flowers, letters, or create photo corners, etc. Vicki Boutin put out this challenge to create a project using scraps. I found out about this thru Scrapbook & Cards Today. They had a special post for NSD and it included the interview with Vicki Boutin. Anyway, I can alway use challenges like that. On this page, I used pink scraps. My dd's favorite color now is the color pink. I had to trim some pieces but most of these pieces were already these sizes. Since I used scraps, the circle under the photo is not a complete circle... but you can't tell!
The Best is Yet to Come
I am a little behind posting my pages here. This title came from the song "The Best is Yet to Come" by Hinder. My dd was singing this song as she was getting ready to go to Crawfish Boil. Hinder was going to perform at the concert there. When she came home that night, she told us how much fun she had at the concert. Crawfish? No she didn't eat any. She went with her friend and that friend's parents. They stopped at a burger place on their way home... go figure! Anyway the theme for DUS 5/1 challenge is music and I created this page.

A Little Birdie Told Me - new blog
As I wrote on my previous post, my to-do list is a very long one. And I am going to add 0ne more to my scrappin to do list. I just found a new challenge blog. It is created by a group of wonderful scrappin loving Danish! It is called A Little Birdie Told Me... love the sound of it...so cute. They already have their very first challenge out. But be sure to check all the posts. They are giving away some yummy stuff!! These pics are some of them.
Our Home
I've got too much to do and so little time! I need to clean up my room, browse blogs and online gallaries, check my e-mails, pay some bills.... and most importantly I want to scrap! I really need to straighten up my room though. I left lots of stuff out all over the room over the NSD weekend. And speaking of NSD weekend, I still haven't had chance to post my layouts I made during that weekend. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time... we'll see since it's Mother's day weekend. Here is the page I made tonight. I did this for Kiddie Lit challenge. It is a new challenge blog inspired by children's books. Their very first challenge is Wizard of Oz. They have a list of items that can be included on a layout. I used the color yellow, a rainbow, 'home', twisted ribbon, and the teeny tiny flowers. We were moving into our new home when these photos were taken.

NSD Weekend
Hope everybody had a fun National Scrapbooking Day weekend. I have participated cyber crops and had so much fun. I will post those layouts I created over the weekend sometime this week. For this blog entry, I wanted to post a couple of pages I did tonight using sketches that Ally and Marci provided for blog hop. MyStampBox hosted a blog hop to visit their DT members' blogs and they provided card sketches and layout sketches for us to play with. I didn't have much sleep Friday night and went to bed late last night, I couldn't start today as early as I wanted to. I didn't feel like scrapping early and was catching up with browsing blogs. It was a good thing I did. Although it was already mid day when I found out about this blog hop, I was still able to do 2 tonight. The first one titled " Snoopy on Ice" was done based on Ally's sketch and the second one titled "Ghost town" was done using Marci's sketch.
